Dr. Ahsan Arif is currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Cardiovascular Surgery department at Shalamar Institute of Health Sciences/Shalamar Medical and Dental College. He obtained his M.B.B.S degree from the University of Health Sciences in 2011 and completed a one-year internship program at Jinnah Hospital Lahore. In 2013, he joined Punjab Institute of Cardiology for residency training in the Cardiac Surgery department. He achieved his MS-Cardiac Surgery degree with distinction and received a Gold Medal in 2021. Dr. Ahsan has been working at Shalamar Hospital as a Senior Registrar since 2022 and was recently promoted to Assistant Professor. He has a special interest in Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgical procedures, Aortic surgeries, and valvular repairs. Dr. Ahsan has worked alongside Professor Aftab Yunus, who has extensive experience in these surgical procedures. He has published four papers in various national journals.
