The Clinical Pharmacy Department at Shalamar Hospital is committed to promoting the safe, effective, and rational use of medications through the development and implementation of evidence-based policies, procedures, and clinical pharmacy services. The department collaborates closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapy, enhance medication safety, improve the quality of patient care that leads to better patient outcomes.

Medication Management Services
- Ensure patient safety through development and implementation of medication-related policies and procedures.
- Management and periodic revision of the Hospital Drug Formulary.
- Promotion of safe medication practices and high-alert medication management.
- Narcotic management system to ensure the safe, secure, and regulatory-compliant procurement, storage, prescribing, dispensing, administration, documentation, auditing, and disposal of controlled narcotic medications.
- Engaged in Technical & Regulatory assistance is being provided to hospital’s Sub-stores and outsourced pharmacy (Fazal Din Pharma Plus).

- Developed Formulary and antibiotic restriction policies for the Accident & Emergency Department.
- Initiated the need for an electronic prescribing system through clinical pharmacy audits.
- Established systems for adverse drug reaction reporting and pharmacovigilance surveillance.
- Pharmacy representation for first Punjab Healthcare Commission (PHC) licensing of the institute and subsequent licensing visits.
